New public safety building heated and cooled by geothermal system

In the beginning of August, Brookhaven began transitioning the city’s public safety services into a new facility containing the municipal court, police and emergency management. Ultimately, the building will house a fully functional Emergency Operations Center and full-building generator.
The new building features a number of environmentally sustainable components, including the largest geo-thermal project of its kind in Georgia for heating and cooling, a distinction which cost $753,128.
